We have reviewed the software you have produced to assist schools in their property
maintenance planning.
We find this a useful tool for schools to use in both planning and tracking their
property maintenance requirements. UPlanIt provides a comprehensive maintenance
schedule that is useful to schools as a working document. The spreadsheet output
also satisfies the format requirement for a 10 year property plan. The ability to
track specific actions taken against the plan should enable the school to better
manage their property maintenance obligations.
The software does not remove the need for schools to receive expert advice on their
property maintenance and management risks. The software assists, however, by providing
a basis for the school and their consultant to assess the various property maintenance
risks. One of the features is that it allows the school to roll over their property
maintenance data from one year to the next, ensuring the data is current at all times.
UPlanIt also allows the schools to record planned capital works, and to integrate
this with maintenance planning for specific parts of the school.
Please keep us informed of further software enhancements, as we will endeavour to
keep you informed of the Ministry's changing requirements.
