Using UPlanIt is easy
UPlanIt is an internet application. You log in using the username and password provided
for you. Only you can see information about your school. |
You enter data about your school - simple measurements, identification of the main
materials used for key maintenance items, what the area is used for, and the year
in which maintenance was last carried out. |
You don't need to be an expert. A lot of this information is available to you from MOE documents you already have, along with maintenance receipts.
If no paperwork
is available, you can estimate based on the condition of the item. UPlanIt is highly
customisable, but you can use all the defaults if you wish. |
UPlanIt then uses built-in information about the cost and life-cycle of materials
to forecast:
- when the work will need to be done
- approximately how much
it will cost
UPlanIt produces reports that you can use to help plan your maintenance budget.
Reports show on a room by room, block by block basis what work needs to be done
in any given year. |
You can also use UPlanIt to populate your Ministry of Education 10 year property
plan spreadsheet template. |
A rollover process keeps the information current for each year. You only need to
enter the data ONCE! |
UPlanIt allows you to enter information about jobs to be done, contractors and quotes,
and to link these jobs with rooms and blocks. In this way you can keep a record
of work history. |
You can also record capital work planned for the future and have this included in
reports, so that you are aware of how capital work may affect planned maintenance. |
